The "BIG 5 Show" was held from 28th October 2006 to 1st November 2006 at the international exhibition and trade fair site in Dubai, U.A.E.

In comparison to the previous year there was a 14% increase in visitors. 24,678 visitors came from the host country and 13,857 foreign visitors came to the show. The proportion of foreign visitors at over 35% represented a slight increase compared to the previous year. Two temporary halls had to be erected to cater for the interest from international exhibitors, which was primarily attributed to the rapid development of the construction and property sector in the Gulf States generally and particularly in the United Arab Emirates. Apart from large building projects such as artificial islands, power stations and sewage treatment plants, the construction activity for commercial purposes and residential buildings is also increasing significantly.

Since 1989 the "BIG 5 Show" has been held in the autumn every year. High quality products and services from Germany are to be found right across the various sectors of this trade fair. The German business world regards this fair in Dubai as one of the most important exhibitions in the Gulf region. With approximately 300 companies, Germany is the largest international group amongst the participants. This active participation is an indication of the importance of the fair for Germany and the continually increasing business relationships with the U.A.E.

As in recent years, CAD-PLAN also took part in the "BIG 5 Show". The stand was run by our new branch office, CAD-PLAN Middle East, and we presented the new versions of ATHENA, flixo and SJ-MEPLA.
Our Middle East Branch Manager, Mr. Tamilvaanan Ramalingam, was very pleased with the high level of interest shown by fair visitors. Many important contacts were made with potential customers and we had lots of interesting meetings. In short, the fair was very successful.

We are intending to take part again next year and are looking forward to the "BIG 5 Show 2007".
