The "Big 5 Show" took place from 16^th - 20^th November 2005 on the site of the World Trade Center in Dubai. As the largest and most important trade fair in the Gulf region it consists of the sectors Building & Construction, Water Technology & Environmental Protection, Air Conditioning, Cleaning & Maintenance, Glass & Metal.  The sectors Bathrooms & Ceramics as well as Marble & Machines are also included.

In total 2,477 exhibitors from fifty different countries presented their products at the "Big 5 Show". With about 112,000 m² of exhibition area and approx. 38,400 visitors this show, which is held annually, is one of the largest in the United Arab Emirates and has long since become firmly established.

Germany is one of the most important trading partners of the UAE with its first class growth potential due to the country's enormous investment in the construction and tourism sectors. It was not just the "Made in Germany" technology that was rated highly, but rather expertise and practice-related specialist knowledge from Germany is much in demand. This trend could be clearly felt at the "BIG 5".

As with last year, CAD-PLAN also took part in this successful and important show in Dubai. At our booth we presented the new versions of ATHENA, flixo and SJ-MEPLA. There was great interest from the show visitors and there were many questions about the innovations. The further developments of ATHENA in the sections of sheet editing, 2D-construction and 3D-construction won wide recognition. At this show CAD-PLAN was able to establish important contacts with potential customers and had many very interesting meetings with show visitors.

As already announced in our exhibition report in 2004, the plans for founding a branch office in Dubai have now been implemented.  We are happy to be able to report that as from April 2006 there will be a new branch office, CAD-PLAN Middle East (Branch U.A.E.). We have also already found a branch manager for this new branch office. We wish him lots of success and all the best in his new assignment.

We are intending to take part again next year and are looking forward to the next "BIG 5 DUBAI".
